YAY ME!

Yesterday afternoon, Brittany had her Halloween party, and she looked good. I have pics I need to post. Then I started on my project: Spark plugs and wires. Something I have never done before. I got 2 plugs changed before our rain, so I stopped until sunlight broke around 7am this morning. I froze my ass off, but felt somewhat confident as I was doing this project solo, for the first time. Finally after 90 minutes, I finished. Feeling uncertain of how I did, I fired "her" up. She purred like a kitten, and I proud of myself for a job well done. Yes, at 37, I'm learning more this past year than I ever have. Changing spark plugs and wires, a starter and rear disc brakes are all eye openers. Its saved me a bundle, thats for sure. I must thank Rich, my landlord for his help and loaning of tools. So, now I relax and watch football today before my new week of work.

State of Confusion

Ok, This is my first blog in quite some time. I am sitting here and have been up for four hours already and its only 9:30am. I just registered for my Tumblr account, along with a new one called Unthink.com. I am tired of Facebook honestly. I need a new outlet in order to find new friends. Like a social networking site hangout of sorts. There is fubar yes, but kinda like the old yahoo chat rooms I guess. Where you could pick and choose the rooms that interested you and enter. Not that I'm looking to hook up or anything, i'm too old and have no interest, as my woman keeps me plenty busy, lol.

I have just recently quit my internet radio show after 5 years. There are things about it I will miss, like the followers I created and friends I have made from it. I created this great persona which is actually just me with a different name. Redlar, pronounced as "Red-ler", became a great AntiChrist and ruler of a nation that started a religion and a way of thinking unlike most out there. I actually had quite a large audience at one time, and I will miss that. My core listeners have become friends over the years and I value that. Everything I thought, felt, or said was really how I felt. I said it how I meant it. I was not politically correct in anyway. I hope that is what attracted people to my show.

A plus for not doing my show anymore is the fact I get more time with 2 of my children. My almost 18 y/o, is no longer the quiet one who is no longer reserved. Living with me for the past 18 months has broke her from the shell she acquired while living with her mother for so long as her mother was always that way. The other is my 9 y/o son, who is the apple of my eye. He is turning out to grow up just like me. I love every second of it. He and I play games alot and used to wrestle. If he could now get into sports also, it would be perfect. Otherwise I will take the smartass little computer gaming geek that he is. The "black sheep" of my family is my middle child of 15. She has had many issues the past 3 years as it pertains to her mother/step-dad, her grandparents on that side and me. I have done everything in my power to try to make things right with her but she insists on doing things not as I wish for her. The major contributors to this are her mother who is in favor of this behavior for some reason as she claims to be religous and christian.

As I sit here, my ass is growing numb from typing for the past 3 hours. I don't have any real plans for the day. Supposed to change plugs and wires on the jeep, and seal the roof, but not sure if that will happen cuz I have no mechanical skills.

So yes, This is PART of the state of confusion I'm currently in. I will TRY my best to keep a more regular posting schedule.

The Next Step

Ok, I will admit, I've been ignoring this blog as I see I have new followers. The site is really finally coming along. I cannot agree 100% with EVERY decision made, but that is the beauty/hinderance of a co-op.

As you can see, the front page and all the show pages are unique. Some have cams, some don't. Some have the audio stream, while others don't. Our schedule has filled to the point to where ITMI has acquired another stream. This means we will now have TWO channels of music and talk to listen to. Now we will have to redesign the front page to accommodate how people will access the shows.

Channel 1, or the Music channel, will remain the primary stream everyone hears when first logging onto the site. Channel 2, or our Talk Channel, will house most or all of our talk/entertainment shows within the coming weeks. This will allow us to add additional quality shows to our lineup and create a friendly competition between the hosts to work harder as shows being on at the same time frames will start to happen.

Into our 8th month of existence as a station, I am very proud of how far we have come. As we continue to do this on our own, we will still have growing pains. At times, we will have issues such as the stream having errors, or the chatroom kicking people out. As busy as Uncle Buck, Kaeos and myself are, we are working tirelessly in order to keep the site running as smoothly as possible.

As we go forward and continue to expand, we can only hope everyone will tell someone new about our site and keep us going and growing. It is my pleasure to help bring this wonderful audio vehicle to you. Now on with the show:

Hellcast just did episode number 166. Our 4 year anniversary will be celebrated on April 1st. Our special guest band will be Kings in Pieces. We hope to be able to have lots of prizes to give away during the show. I am planning on a full show also. Most likely, every segment done. We also hope to bring back a couple large influences from the show's past, that would be the Beast, and the Commander to make cameos. Hard to believe 4 years ago I started this ego monster of a show. Thank you so much to everyone who has had a part in the show, stay tuned for what is in store for year 5.

Looking to 2011

Ah yes, 2010 was definitely an interesting year for the show. After taking 6 months off we came back with a decent audience. Then joining forces with one of my biggest rivals, we have now formed ITMIRadio.com and we are loving it. We hope that everyone involved will have the drive and ambition that Kaeos and myself have. With retooling the show and trying to make it better for everyone, we forge on as usual not knowing who the cohost will be. Can we top 30 cohosts? Or will someone finally step up for good? Obstacles

The subject here is key, because I have been through alot of these recently. Not to mention the personal ones I am facing at work or home, I also have some new ones working on the station. Some hosts refuse to accept the stream, while demanding to be apart of it.

On a brighter note, there is a new development in the works that could benefit on multiple avenues. I will not go into detail about it just yet as I've been asked to keep it silent until things are in place.

I am also losing my will to do my show again. The fact that I cannot keep a cohost weighs heavily on my mind. I am booking more bands than ever for interviews and music. Now I'd like to expand that actually, to more than just music. We'll see.

Station Progression

Finally, We are up and running with a total of 9 shows on our "directory". Most of the shows are refusing to leave their current platforms. I understand we are using a directory, but to make it a true station, we need to get everyone on the same page. Whether or not that happens is yet to be seen. I do have 2 people that are willing to try it, and Kaeos is now using the stream. So, progress is being made, but at a very slow pace.

My next order of business is to find more shows or dj's that are wiling to use the stream and the station page to broadcast from with the cams we set up. I have heard of many complaints that the cams are too hard to log into. Its no fucking different from logging into any other site that uses cams. The way I have coded the pages are minimizing the use of flash so people can access the site and not get so bogged down.

Lastly, We found a way to be heard while listeners are mobile. It was a painstaking and daunting task, but one I have conquered. Now, I just must find a way in order to simulcast all the other shows that refuse to leave their current platforms.

The Expansion

After the mild success of last year's idea, I am moving, in part, in a similar direction with the same sort of concept but thinking grander. Me and my "partner" are still in the negotiation stage of this process but more will come across the airwaves soon.

The first obstacle that was hurdled together was the purchase of the stream. Details of programming are still being ironed out. As soon as decisions are made, you can read them here or on the 'partner' blog or hear them on our stream.

I am very excited about this! The personal issues I'm dealing with are lessened when something so sweet is blooming here.

The Return

Its been a long time coming. After taking six months off for a "burned out" period, I decided to come back. Using free sites and accessories, I have made an attempt. The numbers are low of course, for taking so much time off.

I am now back and excited as can be. I have new co-hosts at my side, yea, who would've guessed lol. I have the same material for the most part, but always looking to improve on the best, scripted show on the internet.

Is it a Sign

Today, while sleeping, I had the worst dream. It got me to the point to where I was crying in my sleep. Things were meshed and made me feel horrible for the first time in a long time. ALMOST nothing is worse than losing a friend of over 15 years that you have been extremely close with. For many years this person was my rock and vice versa. It brought back memories of my grandpa's funeral which was the worst experience of my life to date. It just so happened that I was able to wake up and then realize that nothing bad had actually happened. I mean I have not talked to that person yet today, but I know I will. I hate having a dream like this. Is it a sign of things to come? For this person or someone else I am close to? There are not many that I would shed a tear for, but this particular person IS one of them. Yes, my kids are on that list as well. The rest is completely up in the air.

Hey everyone ! Saturday's show went pretty good. Of course I was unable to drink much and that has bothered me somewhat. I was on such a good roll. Punkette claimed to have done her first blog, but I see nothing...

I have been getting the run around from one sponsor and the other is finalizing this week for the campaign to start on this week's show! yay me! I was hoping for something on a site wide strategy, but they are wanting to start small, so they have chosen just one show for now. I hope we can impress them enough in order to advertise sitewide, bcuz that is my ultimate goal, of course, right after I nail down about 10 of these.

Someone told me earlier in the week that if I were to change the name of my site, I could land 2 really big shows on my site that were religious in nature. After some thought about it, I decided I am going to sink or swim with this name of HELLCAST becuz that is where it started, and that is where it will end. I am not going to change to suit someone else's needs. Every time I turn around, someone wants me to change something about my show or my site for THEM, and not for me. That is very selfish of them. I am where I am today becuz I refused to cave in to the pressure of other people wanting me to change.

I created the forum to be an interactive part of the site, but it seems no one besides my mom seems interested in it. I will leave it up, as I will both of the blogs of myself and Punkette. I know it is a slow process, there for I will be sticking with it.

A new idea

Episode 129 went off really well, except for my cam of course. Still can't get that dam thing to work. This past week, my site has added the live show of Chaotic Radio to the Saturday night line up. Low and behold, we were live on each others shows' for about 10 mins. Its an unusual concept, but we made it work , for the most part.

Skype is not set up to have confernces add another conference. Now this spawns another idea though, which we will make work in some fashion. I look forward to this and can't wait to see where it goes from here.

Craziness is abound in every direction

The past week or so has been utterly crazy as hell like you would not believe. I still have Mchgn and OP majorly butt hurt, but now tncougar has promised to never return. These people, except for cougar being new, have been close to me for 25 years, and pick on me all the time, but when I pick back, they get offended? How many times must I play that disclaimer? I hold no ill will towards them, bcuz they still have not fully embraced myself as their deity.

The Ford show has joined hellcastradio.com right on the heels of the Drunken Round Table joining and making their full debut on November 6, 2009. I am excited to have these two shows join especially, seeings how we were all together on a former site supporting each other. I am no evil dictator or anything, and will be as flexible as possible. My goal is to have a internet radio station that has the best live programming available, while having fun.

Just as long as incoming noobs know that all malicious attacks MUST be directed only towards Redlar himself, and not other listeners. I have a much thicker skin than most, maybe Ford is close, lol... I've been taking abuse my whole life from people, I'm used to it.

Now I'm hearing rumors of blogtalkradio.com is going to a pay site, and livevideo.com has lost many of its features. This is music to MY ears. Maybe I can handpick shows I believe would be good additions to the site and build the network up even more. Until next time...

Another good thing

While discussing show options, it came to me that I can cross promote a friend's show on my site while they still broadcast on their site. So I built a page, embedded their cam, and now joining the Hellcast Radio Network is now The Ford Show. This is now joining the stable of shows which include the Drunken Round Table, the Klicious Show, Dan and Lenny in the Morning, and Hellcast Radio. Doing this for him impressed him, and he told me that Right Wing Radio has joined up. I am very proud to have DRT and Ford join me in trying to make this station have quality programming all week long. I have no power issues or struggles, as i seek attention and monetary gains for all shows on my site. That is my goal. One step at a time, just gotta get a staff , lol.

A New Beginning

Here we go, once again, as I, Redlar, tries to maintain a blog for all my fans and listeners. As in the past, I was not successful in this endeavor. With the website up, and now looking in good position, I feel I can start to express some feelings here before putting them into the show. I do not expect many to be able to contribute to this process. It has been a long and tumultuous path, learning many new skills and new friends along the way. In the very near future, I hope to be able to bring such things forward to you in hopes you all better understand your Antichrist in a new light. I look forward to this new branch of myself to be given to you.
